You can help raise values
July 31st, 2009 6:50 PM

all areas have been hard hit with price decreases. I drove an area with acre lots in the North East Valley and was surprised to see how many people have stopped "maintaining" their homes.

Mostly elbow grease is what is needed.  This mixed value neighborhood had homes ranging in price from the mid 300,000 to over 3,000,000. If the entire neighborhood would keep their yards neat ( remove weeds, plant flowers) the value of the entire area would increase. People that buy short sales in this neighborhood will not maintain their properties because the rest of the owners don't care.

It's your chnoice, but if you don't clean up and maintin your home, you will be upset when we can't sell your home at what you think it is worth.

It's a new world in Real Estate
July 30th, 2009 9:01 PM

Buyer, Seller or investor, in today's world you must have a trusted qualified mentor to guide you through this real estate maze. There are many factors affecting our market today; you have lenders that are not watching their portfolios and hire unqualified people to represent then with REO's and short sales. You have agents looking to make quick bucks by hoping that volume will make up for just getting their sellers a minimum price. You have the media that loves to print doom and gloom and thus entice buyers to offer less than a property is really worth.

The result is declining neighborhood values which in the long run will affect each and every one of us.
